Jessica Grant Named Newfoundland And Labrador Arts Council Artist Of The Year

Jessica Grant, whose debut novel Come, Thou Tortoise (Knopf, 2009) won the Winterset Award and the Amazon.ca/Books in Canada First Novel Award, is this year's recipient of the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council's Artist of the Year Award. In an interview with the Telegram, Grant said, "To be called an artist and then to be called artist of the year in a province that has so many amazing artists means a tremendous amount to me. I really can’t think of anything that’s been a greater honour.”
